Battery Disposal Information

In connection with the sale of batteries or the supply of devices containing batteries, we are legally obliged to inform you of the following:

Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.

You may return used batteries that we currently sell or have previously sold to us at your own cost or return them free of charge to our shipping warehouse (shipping address). Alternatively, you may dispose of used batteries at designated local collection points.

As an end user, you are legally required to return used batteries, ensuring that they are properly recycled or disposed of in an environmentally safe manner.

Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or human health if not stored or disposed of correctly. However, batteries also contain valuable raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese, or nickel, which can be recovered and reused.

Meaning of Battery Symbols

The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin indicates that batteries must not be disposed of in household waste.

If batteries contain more than the specified levels of certain heavy metals, the chemical symbols for these metals are shown below the crossed-out wheeled bin:

  • Pb = battery contains more than 0.004% lead by mass

  • Cd = battery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by mass

  • Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by mass

Information on the included costs pursuant to Article 56(4) of the EU Battery Regulation (Regulation 2023/1542) can be found via the “Batterie-Zurück” initiative.

Please observe the above instructions.
